Description: Competency-based interviewing (CBI) is a style of interviewing in which a job candidate’s competence is assessed by eliciting information about past experiences and the behavior and skills used. It is considered one of the main trends in selecting calibers for new positions coping with the concept of talent management where we don’t only acquire employees for our vacant posts but talents to come up with the best performance.

Objective:

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

• Explain the meaning of competencies.

• Prepare structured interview questions based on competencies.

• Build rapport and break the ice to encourage interviewees to talk.

• Observe the body language of the interviewees.

• Take short, useful notes during the interview.

• Avoid the common interviewing pitfalls and selection errors.
